• NEWS: CPS Partnership with ACTS Ends May 1, 2015

Dear Students, Friends, and Supporters of Canadian Pentecostal Seminary

We are writing this letter to provide you with information on some very important changes for the seminary. As many of you already know, Canadian Pentecostal Seminary will no longer be a full partner with ACTS at Trinity Western University, effective May 1, 2015.

While we have had much success during our time at Trinity Western University, it has become increasingly difficult for the Seminary to continue to move forward, especially with the recent reconfiguration of the PAOC Districts and changes in responsibility for the Seminary. For a number of years, the Western Canadian Districts of the PAOC partnered to sponsor Canadian Pentecostal Seminary. This arrangement initially worked well. However, along with other developments in theological education including the decentralization of education to each district, the BC/Yukon District and CPS Board is now solely responsible for Canadian Pentecostal Seminary.

As we move forward we believe in the value of graduate theological education and will continue to offer programs through our Seminary. Canadian Pentecostal Seminary has a legal Charter from the Province of British Columbia that authorizes us to operate theological programs and grant the appropriate certificates and degrees. We are in the midst of reorganizing our administrative order to more effectively operate the Seminary. We are working to develop pathways for graduate theological education that we believe will offer our constituency excellent programs that prepare them for ministry in our context.

We will also work with current students at ACTS/CPS to ensure they complete their degree programs at ACTS. We are grateful for the cooperation of our ACTS partners that will facilitate this transition for students and staff.

Please keep posted for new developments with Canadian Pentecostal Seminary that will be announced soon.

If you have any questions about the transition, please feel free to contact Michael Wilkinson, Academic Dean and Interim President (michael.wilkinson@twu.ca).
